The project called »Model of transdisciplinary project development in automotive industry« was chosen at the public call for proposals intended to enhance the development function in companies in 2012 in the frame of »Operational Programme of Human Resource Development for the period 2007 – 2013«.

The purpose of the project was to evolve a concept of efficient product development in the automotive industry based on a transdisciplinary approach. In developing a product in the company, we apply the system of simultaneous engineering which is too focused on engineering functions. The classic interdisciplinary approach to work involving experts from different research disciplines aiming at the common goal is, however, not sufficient. It occurs too often to neglect the experience, intuition and external stakeholders. The transdisciplinary approach, though, is a combination of (inter)disciplinary and non-disciplinary approaches and based on the principle of simultaneous rule, allows a better interaction between research, development and engineering actors on one hand and the rest of society on the other hand.
The project took place in years 2013 – 2014.
