A new line of light trailers of a higher price range which will be intended primarily for more demanding customers

The acronym of the project LIGHTTRAIL consists words »LIGHT« (little specific weight), which is the purpose of the project and »TRAIL« (a trace, course, or to make a track or path through, and also short for trailer). In short, the purpose of the project is to make a path for development of a car trailer intended for modern users of road mobility.
In the framework of the project, we have developed a new line of light trailers of a higher price range which is intended primarily for more demanding customers who in addition to the basic functionality want a modern design, environmentally sound product, reliable and safe operation, and a possibility to upgrade it to their needs and wishes. We have successfully achieved the aim of the project to develop a car trailer which is in terms of comparable carrying and rigidity lighter than the existing trailers, and that will contribute to lower fuel consumption of the towing vehicle. Furthermore, the project goal to develop a trailer whose new design solutions provide lower center of gravity and therefore better driving capacities, has been successfully achieved.
In addition to the usual functionalities, the new platform of the trailer is designed in a way to disassemble it partially and put it in a vertical position. This functionality allows easy storage in a small space and is also important for transport of trailers to the customers. This functionality is suitable for new services such as trailer hire, trailer on click, and other services of the modern modular road transport.
According to the principles of simultaneous engineering, we renewed and modernized the production processes for the serial production of new trailers. Due to demands to provide better quality, extended service life of trailers and production cost efficiency, we have optimized technological processes and approaches comparable with technologies, requirements and standards in the automotive industry and compliant with the guidelines of Industry 4.0.
