The EAGLE project represents a compact consortium composed of a large industrial partner, a SME and a research institution all focused on a breakthrough innovation<\/strong> in the field of advanced sensors<\/strong> for the needs of factories of the future<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>\n

Within the project EAGLE, we developed a demonstration prototype of an advanced 3D sensor system<\/strong> which enable frequency visual control of geometrically complex products<\/strong>. The prototype was validated and demonstrated in a simulated operational environment.\u00a0 As a use case, we chose stamping parts<\/strong> distinguished by their complex intrinsic geometry, and for their propulsive lightweight design advantages. Stamping parts are made of steel and often painted which leads to additional challenges at the quality control due to light reflection. The quality control was performed by using innovative 3D procedures of machine vision<\/strong>, which was developed and upgraded based on our own patent solutions and tested within the project. We developed several new breakthrough solutions<\/strong> resulting in significant advances well beyond the state-of-the-art.<\/p>\n

The development of the advanced sensor system for 3D geometry control of complex products was conducted within two R&D phases, industrial research<\/strong> and experimental development<\/strong>. It comprised R&D activities performed at TRL 3 \u2013 6. In scope of the project, a concept of integration of the EAGLE technological solution into the industrial environment of smart factories was developed. The prototype solution was initially tested in the automotive sector, where the level of automation is high enough to implement state-of the-art solutions in the field of automated control and further on, the solution will be applied in other industrial sectors.<\/p>\n

The result of the R&D project is a prototype of an advanced sensor system for the 3D geometry control of complex products in factories of the future, enabling large-scale producers to produce products with high added value<\/strong>. On a global scale, the system has a strong market potential<\/strong> in factories of the future both in the automotive and related industrial sectors.<\/p>\n

The project has been co-financed in the amount of 1.995.559,47 EUR.<\/p>\n
