On 15 December 2020, the Association of Mechanical Engineers of Slovenia hosted its annual Academy of Mechanical Engineering. The event aims to create ties between engineers of all ages and focuses on the importance of engineering. As every year, the best engineers were awarded.

Awards were given to the best individuals from industry and academia. The committee consisting of 125 members selected two winners for the global breakthrough of Slovenian engineering, dr. Marjan Pogačnik, Director of Iskra Mehanizni, and Marko Gorjup, M.Sc., Director of TPV GROUP. The committee awarded Mr. Gorjup for “his excellent knowledge of the automotive industry as a result of 26 years of experience in this field.” The committee agreed “he is highly innovative and open to new opportunities.«
